These amazing sculptures are are crafted using old books. Su Blackwell is a UK artist primarily using old books as her medium. Heavily influenced by fairy tales, she creates fine, intricate sculptures by cutting and gluing the pages of books to create miniature installations atop a lain open-faced book.

75th anniversary Penguin Books
I'm loving these covers by New York based graphic designer Amy Fleisher. To celebrate Penguin Books 75th anniversary, she has revamped the cover of Penguins most popular
classic books, such as Frankenstein and Dracula, to be more “Penguin-Centric”.

Itty Bitty Notebooks
Two little notebooks I've just made.
They are A7 size, that's 1/8 the size of an A4 piece of paper. Perfect for toting around in the handbag.

Rusty Key Journal
I was given some old rusty skelton keys a few months back. Some are so large and lovely that they are destined to stay in the stash for a while longer. This is the first journal I've made with one. But expect a few more to pop up in the next while.

Auckland Souvenir Teaspoon Journal
Now that summer is over I've headed back indoors and have been busy tearing up paper and making some new journals.
I think this is the third teaspoon journal I've made. The Auckland souvenir teaspoon I picked up from the Takapuna markets a few months back.
The other two were journals were recipe books. But I've kept the inside of this one blank so it could be used as a recipe book or a sketch or written journal.
The endpapers are a gorgeous green and orange hand marbled paper.
I have a few other journals nearly finished so hopefully I should be back soon with some more photos. And it is a very indoorsy crafty kinda Auckland weekend!

Digital pop-up book
Wow! It's now February, and I haven't shown you anything crafty on my blog this year! So I thought I'd share this amazing pop-up book designed for adults.
This is from the creators website "An unlikely marriage of print and digital, Between Page and Screen chronicles a love affair between two characters, P and S. The book has no words, only inscrutable black and white geometric patterns that, when coupled with a webcam, conjure the written word. Reflected on screen, the reader sees him or herself with open book in hand, language springing alive and shape-shifting with each turn of the page.
